How the XAT score is calculated
Score = correct − (0.25 × wrong) − (0.10 × unattempted questions beyond the first 8). General Knowledge is marked separately and has no negative marking.

|---|---|---|
| Verbal Ability & Logical Reasoning | 26 | Yes |
| Decision Making | 21 | Yes |
| Quantitative Ability & Data Interpretation | 28 | Yes |
| General Knowledge | 20 | No |

How to read your result
XAT is one paper for everyone, so there are no slots to adjust for. Your percentile comes from the three Part 1 sections: Verbal Ability and Logical Reasoning, Decision Making, and Quant and Data Interpretation.
General Knowledge is scored on its own. It does not change your percentile, and wrong GK answers cost nothing. Institutes may look at the GK score later in their selection process.
XLRI sets a cutoff for each section as well as for the total. A strong total with a weak Decision Making score can still miss the list, so check all three section marks.
