Approximate shortlist percentiles from the 2026 cycle. XLRI also sets sectional cutoffs, and its final list adds the essay and interview. Cutoffs are approximate, last checked October 2026, and are not a promise of admission. The Colleges chapter in the playbook goes further: which colleges fit each percentile, and fees against packages.

Four phases. Fifteen days each.

The playbook turns these phases into a day-by-day calendar, with timetables for full-time and working aspirants.

  1. Days 1–15

    Build

Cover the topics that carry the most marks and fix your basics. Take a first mock to see where you stand.

  2. Days 16–30

    Strengthen

Close the gaps your mocks show. Add the next set of topics and start timed practice.

  3. Days 31–45

    Convert

Turn practice into marks: more mocks, closer analysis, and an attempt strategy you trust.

  4. Days 46–60

    Perform

Revise from your own sheets and error log, rest before the paper, and go in with a plan for every section.

Questions, answered

01When is XAT held?

XAT is usually held on the first Sunday of January. XLRI publishes the exact date each year on xatonline.in.

02What is the XAT skip penalty?

In Part 1, XAT deducts 0.10 marks for each unattempted question after the first 8 you leave. A wrong answer costs 0.25. The GK section has no negative marking. The playbook shows how to decide when to guess.

03What exactly do I get?

One PDF ebook of 86 to 102 pages, depending on the exam. It has a 60-day plan, chapter playbooks with worked examples, score vs percentile tables, mock sheets and revision sheets.

04How do I get it after paying?

A download button appears right after payment, and we email you the link. The link works for 30 days and for 5 downloads per playbook. The PDF is yours to keep.

05Does it guarantee a percentile?

No. It gives you a plan. Your result depends on how you prepare, your mocks and the paper on the day.

06Can I get a refund?

No. The playbook is a digital PDF that you get the moment you pay, so all sales are final. Please check the sample pages and make sure you pick the right exam before you buy. If you were charged twice, we refund the extra payment. If the PDF doesn't reach you or won't open, contact us and we'll send it again.

How to use 60 days for XAT

XAT is the only major MBA exam with a Decision Making section and a penalty for skipping too many questions. Most of the score difference comes from Decision Making and from knowing when an attempt is worth the risk.

  1. Days 1–15

Learn the Decision Making rules with worked cases, and cover the high-weight QA-DI chapters.

  2. Days 16–45

Practise VALR and DM under time. In every mock, track how many you skip so you stay near the 8-question limit.

  3. Days 46–60

Revise from your sheets, keep a short daily GK slot, and rehearse your order for Part 1.

Where marks are usually lost

  • Leaving more than 8 questions: each extra skip costs 0.10.
  • Answering Decision Making from personal opinion instead of the rules the questions reward.
  • Ignoring GK because it does not count in the percentile. XLRI still looks at it.
